The Indiana Theatre, located at 419 E. Main Street in Washington, Indiana, opened on October 6, 1926, on the site of the former Grand Opera House, which was destroyed by fire earlier that year. Originally designed in the Spanish Revival style with ornate plasterwork, balconies, and a seating capacity of over 1,200, it hosted both films and live performances. Over the years, the theater saw periods of success and decline, prompting restoration efforts by the community. Today, it continues to serve as a venue for movies, live shows, and local events.
